Fr. Stephen Kakande’s Thanksgiving Message on the Occasion of his Birthday

Dear Parishioners of Our Parish of St. Joseph of Luquillo

As I celebrate my birthday, I feel filled with immense gratitude and joy to be surrounded by such a wonderful and caring community. Your care and support is a testament to the love and unity we share as a parish family.

First and foremost, I thank God for the gift of life and for the privilege of serving as His priest. Each day, it reminds me of what an incredible blessing it is to walk this journey of faith with all of you. Your prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support have been a constant source of strength and inspiration to me.

I remember when I arrived at this parish, I didn’t know Spanish. At least now I can speak a few words. All this has been possible because of your support. Thank you very much.

To our dedicated parish council and volunteers, your hard work and commitment to our parish do not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of our community, and I am deeply grateful for all you do to make our parish a vibrant and welcoming place.

To each of you, my dear parishioners, thank you for your kindness, your generosity and your faith. Your presence at Mass, your involvement in our ministries, and your willingness to serve others are what makes our parish truly special. They have enriched my life in countless ways, and I am honored to be your pastor.

As I reflect on this past year, I am filled with hope and excitement for the future. Together, we will continue to grow in faith, love, and service to God and to others. Let us always remember the words of St. Paul in Philippians 1:3-4: “I thank my God every time I think of you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.”

Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me. Your love, support and prayers are the greatest gifts I have received. May God bless you abundantly.

Yours in Christ
